New Architecture Studio: design your cloud and price it on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud

Simulate real infrastructure. Break it. Learn why.

Design architectures, write Dockerfiles and compose files, type docker commands. Then watch it all run through a day of traffic and outages, and get graded on what actually works.

The Beginner tier of every lab is free. No account needed to try.

Live demo: change the architecture or the compose file, and watch a simulated day of traffic and incidents.

A small online shop on a busy day, up to 650 requests per second.

One lab for each layer of infrastructure

Each lab simulates one part of a real platform, with the same five tiers, the same Uptime points and one plan for all of them.

Planned

Kubernetes

Deploy, scale and repair workloads on a simulated cluster from a terminal.

Planned

Cloud architecture

Networks, identities and managed services, the way cloud providers really bill them.

Planned

Networking

Subnets, routing, DNS and TLS, packet by packet.

New Architecture Studio

Design your own cloud architecture, then find out what it really costs.

Not an exercise this time: your architecture, your traffic, your goals. Draw regions, VPCs and subnets, get every change checked like a real deployment, throw outages at it, and compare the monthly bill on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

  • If it would fail on the cloud, it fails here, with the reason
  • 17 tests, from a crashed server to ransomware
  • 23 templates that work, from a static site to a global SaaS
  • An AI architect that designs three checked variants within your budget

Every lab works the same way

  1. A real brief

Traffic, budget, and the failure that will happen at 10:00. Exactly what you would get at work.

  2. You build

Components and their settings, Dockerfiles, compose files, commands: whatever the lab is about, you do it yourself.

  3. It breaks on purpose

Crashes, traffic peaks, full disks, lost nodes. Every failure is explained, with the concept to read.

  4. Graded on what works

Any solution that meets the objectives passes. Then compare it with an expert reference.

Five tiers in every lab, one progression

Each tier you complete in a lab adds a nine to your rank in that lab, the way availability is measured in production. Uptime points add up across all labs and place you on the leaderboard.

Choose a lab
  1. 90%

    Beginner free

Run the basics and understand them: a server, a database, a first container.

  2. 99%

    Intermediate

Build what holds real traffic: load balancing, caching, clean images, multi-service stacks.

  3. 99.9%

    Advanced

Operate and secure it: distributed data, failures, graceful shutdowns, least privilege.

  4. 99.99%

    Expert

Run platforms at scale: multi-region systems, consensus, clusters and zero-downtime updates.

  5. 99.999%

    Architect

Defend an architecture against real constraints: cost, migrations, compliance and teams.

Questions about the labs

What is an infrastructure simulator?

It is a tool where you build part of a real platform, an architecture, a Docker image, a cluster, then watch it run under realistic traffic and failures. You see latency, errors, resources and cost change, and learn why it holds or breaks instead of only reading about it.

Which labs are available?

Two labs are open today: system design, with 40 exercises, and containers, with 35 exercises on Docker and Docker Compose. Docker Swarm joins the containers lab next, then Kubernetes, cloud architecture and networking labs.

Is there a Docker simulator?

Yes. The containers lab simulates a Docker server in your browser: you write Dockerfiles and compose files, type docker commands, and watch images, containers, volumes and networks behave like the real ones. Then a production test reboots, upgrades and probes your server, and you see what holds. Its Beginner tier is free.

Can I simulate a cloud infrastructure?

Yes. The 77 components of the system design lab are modelled on the services teams run in the cloud: virtual machines, auto-scaling groups, managed SQL and NoSQL databases, object storage, CDNs, queues, event logs, serverless functions. You choose regions and availability zones, and each design shows an estimated monthly cost.

Is it free?

The Beginner tier of every lab is free: 18 exercises today, plus the whole concept library. One plan unlocks the next levels of every lab and the Studio, with the premium articles and the community, for a period of access, by card, PayPal or mobile money.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in your browser, best on a computer or a tablet. You can try the first exercise without an account.

Is it available in French?

Yes. Every lab, its exercises and the concept library are available in English and French.
